US Navy veteran ‘lunges’ over court barriers to punch pedophile who abused two of his daughters

A father-of-four (pictured left in the image above) was arrested on Wednesday in a courtroom after he leaped over barriers in order to punch a pedophile who had abused two of his daughters.

Not all heroes wear capes…

45-year-old US Navy veteran Kevin Smith has been held on misdemeanour charges of obstructing governmental or judicial administration, fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct following the attack on the 40-year-old pedophile Donald Biggs, who is a youth pastor.

Bail is set at $12,500 for Mr. Smith.

Authorities say, Kevin Patrick Smith, 45, lunged over a railing inside a Medford courtroom and punched defendant Donald Courtney Biggs, 40, in the face.

The impact of Smith’s fist left Biggs lying on the floor in a fetal position, the Mail Tribune of Medford reported.

Donald Biggs admitted to the charges of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity back in February.

The youth pastor was found to have been in possession of secret recordings of approximately 36 teenage victims. His crimes only became apparent to authorities after it was discovered that he had been sending inappropriate texts to a 14-year-old girl.

During the search, officers found numerous electronic devices that contained video footage of both minors and adults undressing and entering a shower in Bigg’s Jacksonville, Oregon, home where he hosted youth events. He hid a video camera behind a light switch at his home and also concealed video cameras in bathrooms at other church retreats.

A GoFundMe has been set up by a friend of the US Navy veteran Jacob Elkin, the nd a description on the page gives more details on exactly what happened earlier this week:

“[On] Wednesday August 22nd at 11 am there was a final sentencing for Donny Biggs, an ex youth pastor that has been convicted for only one of several counts of child pornography.

“This man used his power and took advantage of middle school and high school aged girls by hiding video cameras and filming them using the restroom or taking showers. Several girls have been hurting for almost 4 years as Donny has continued to push this out (changing lawyers, and anything he could to stay in county not prison.)

“Long story short: Kevin (father of two of the victims) did what every person in that room wanted to. He flew like the man of steel himself and punched Donny square in the face and continued to beat him until police pulled the two apart.

“In all seriousness, Kevin has brought a little piece justice and helped all these victims feel better. I am starting this go fund me to cover any charges he may face and just a good ol thanks for being a hero! Please donate to this great man!”

“I just wanted to set something up to Navyrelieve some of the tension from it and really get something going for him so that they can hopefully pay all this off,” Elkin said.

He continued:

“And of course you know, never really a proponent for violence but I felt like in this situation it brought a little bit of relief to all those girls who’ve been in this situation for years. For those who have had a hard time with that, I felt like it was a little piece of justice today as harsh as that may sound. It felt good.”

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe has surpassed its $5,000 goal and is currently at $12,715 – enough to help with Smith’s bail costs.

Meanwhile, the pedophile youth pastor from Oregon was sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison for covertly recording underage church members undressing in his home, while he was employed as a youth pastor.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the verdict against Donald Courtney Biggs on Aug. 23.

The verdict came not long after the grand jury report released this month that accused more than 300 “predator priests” across Pennsylvania of sexual abuse—and the Roman Catholic Church for its decades-long cover-up of the alleged activity.

UPDATE from Jacob Elkin: Hey everyone! A quick update. Kevin was released last night from the county jail. We so appreciate everything you all have donated to him and his family. The money will go to any charge fines he may face and maybe a nice dinner for the sweet sweet justice pie he served yesterday. Again thank you so much from us and the family! Keep it up! God bless.
