President Trump announced in Tweet on Sunday that he will be hosting “A Salute to America” event at the Lincoln Memorial where he would address the nation.
“HOLD THE DATE! We will be having one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Washington, D.C., on July 4th,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be called ‘A Salute To America’ and will be held at the Lincoln Memorial. Major fireworks display, entertainment and an address by your favorite President, me!”

The president first teased the prospect of a July 4th event at the Lincoln Memorial earlier this month.
Speaking to members of his Cabinet, Trump said he was thinking about the idea of a Fourth of July parade, potentially at the Lincoln Memorial, that could “become a tradition.”
“We’re thinking about doing, on the 4th of July or thereabouts, a parade, a ‘Salute to America’ parade. I guess it’d be really more of a gathering than a parade. Perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial. We’re looking at sites. But we’re thinking about doing something that would, perhaps, become a tradition,” he said.
President Trump has for a while wanted to host a celebration or parade in the nation’s capital.
So lock it in.
