Stoneman Douglas High students David Hogg and Ryan Deitsch went on MSNBC’s Joy Reid to talk about their gun control advocacy
The duo spoke about the answers they got from Senator Marco Rubio during CNN’s town hall, with Hogg saying Rubio is part of the “political side-steppers.”
The Tweet that triggered
During the interview Joy Reid showed David Hogg and Ryan Deitsch this tweet from former Sheriff David Clarke:
The well ORGANIZED effort by Florida school students demanding gun control has GEORGE SOROS’ FINGERPRINTS all over it. It is similar to how he hijacked and exploited black people’s emotion regarding police use of force incidents into the COP HATING Black Lives Matter movement. pic.twitter.com/XDZ3bcwF6F

Hogg reacted, “You disgust me. Honestly. Seriously. We had friends that died there, and you’re trying to make this about you? You are absolutely disgusting, and you should be out there taking action, because we’re trying as hard as we can here, and we don’t deserve to be attacked by adults.”
The response on Twitter has been a mixture of reactions from support to outrage, with some saying Mr Hogg is taking a nasty approach to gain attention.
VICIOUS LITTLE ACTIVIST: “We don’t deserve to be attacked by adults” @DAVIDHOGG111! As the vicious little activist attacks @SheriffClarke for stating the obvious! This is part of the liberal ploy, you can’t attack children! David is not a child, he’s 19! pic.twitter.com/OpqrLvc2pp
