A Democratic operative assaulted a female staffer serving in the Trump administration on Capitol Hill Thursday.
Capitol Police have released a portion of their report regarding the incident.
The press secretary for Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, Heather Swift, was leaving a meeting with the House Committee on Natural Resources when she was assaulted by Wilfred “Mike” Stark, an American Bridge staffer.
As reported by the Daily Caller, Stark reportedly pushed Heather violently while lunging toward her boss, Zinke. Swift in an attempt to stop Stark but was unable to.
This isn’t the first incident for Stark, he has a history of violent behavior and arrest. Just last October, he was subdued by police and arrested while tracking Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie.
Heather Swift spoke directly to The Daily Caller, giving an exclusive statement that the American Bridge staffer was much bigger than her and acted like a “lunatic.”
Interior communications director Laura Rigas released a statement saying she is “extremely irate” that a female member of the Department of the Interior “was physically assaulted today by a Democrat staffer from the PAC American Bridge.”
