A video has gone viral that appears to show a nursery teacher from a daycare in Forrest City, Arkansas ordering children to throw rocks at a classmate to ‘teach him a lesson’.
Police said they were sent a footage that was recorded on another teacher’s phone showing six students at ‘Teach N Tend Daycare’ throwing rocks at a four-year-old child.
The staff member who contacted police said the children, who were all aged four, threw the rocks at their classmate after being told to by another teacher.
The incident is reported to have happened on or around April 26 at ‘Teach N Tend Daycare’. The footage has only recently been made public.
Fox 13 TV reported the woman who witnessed the incident told police officials she and her colleagues were outside with the children when they noticed another teacher telling a child to sit down.
The four-year-old child had allegedly picked up some rocks and thrown them on the ground.
It was after the child threw the rocks onto the ground that the nursery teacher is then said to have ordered other students to throw rocks at the four-year-old to ‘teach him a lesson.’
Around six students were filmed throwing rocks at the child, who can be clearly seen crying on his knees.
A police official who watched the video said: ‘I observed approximately 6 toddlers throwing rocks at a white male toddler.’
‘The toddler is kneed down covering his face crying. A background voice says, “He’ll learn to stop, ok that’s enough.’”
Police have since questioned the teacher but no arrests have been made.
