Two police officers were struck by gunfire in Camden Tuesday night.
The scene was at Broadway and Mount Vernon Street, according to local media.
The wounded officers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping identify two persons of interest who may have information concerning the shooting of two undercover Camden County Metro Detectives the night of August 7, 2018.
Preliminary investigation indicates that at 8:30 pm, two plainclothes Camden County Metro Police Detectives were in an unmarked vehicle that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Broadway and Walnut Streets.
The Detectives were sitting in their vehicle when they were fired upon by two unknown males. One of the Detectives returned fire. The individuals who shot at the Camden Metro Detectives fled the area and have not yet been apprehended.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach these individuals.
