MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell falsely claimed that Brenda Snipes is a Republican. Snipes, 75, has been facing mounting criticism as Florida’s Senate and gubernatorial elections have been locked in a ballot-counting battle.
Snipes was appointed the job by Florida’s former Governor, Jeb Bush, who is an actual Republican. Snipes ran for re-election for her job multiple times as a Democrat. Specifically, 2004, 2008, 20012, and 2016.
As no correction has been made, it’s unclear if Andrea Mitchell stated that Brenda Snipes is a Republican on purpose or it was a mistake.
