Eric Trump said in an interview with Breitbart that he was spat on by a worker at a Chicago restaurant Tuesday night in an incident he said was a “disgusting act.”
Trump said: “For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”
Reports of the assault first broke when Mary Ann Ahern, a political reporter for NBC 5 Chicago, reported rumors on her Twitter account. She said reports indicated that the incident occurred at the Aviary cocktail bar in the city. She said the offender was in Secret Service custody.

Eric said that it was a “purely disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems.”
Anthony Guglielmi with the Chicago Police Department confirmed that officers were on scene assisting the U.S. Secret Service.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.
The incident took place in a Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood at the Aviary.
The Aviary’s co-owner, Nick Kokonas, made headlines earlier this year when he invited the college football national champion Clemson University Tigers to experience “what an actual celebration dinner should be” he said after President Trump served the players fast food at the White House.
