Trump releases call transcript summary with Ukrainian president

The White House released a call transcript in the early hours of Thursday morning between Donald Trump and the Ukrainian president.

The memorandum released by the Justice Department is not, according to the administration, a verbatim transcript. The text, according to the document released by the administration, is the record of the notes and recollections of the officers and National Security Council policy staff “assigned to listen and memorialize the conversation in written form.”

According to the document, the president said on the call that he would like to find out what happened with “this whole situation with Ukraine” and he said his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani would be traveling to Ukraine. Zelensky said he would meet with Giuliani when he visited.

However, the accusations from the Democrats that there was a quid pro quo deal or threat is simply not true. Also as you can see below, Trump doesn’t mention the Biden thing eight times as the press described it’s more like three.

The real reason it seems the president asking for the investigation seems to be the Russia hoax that “they say a lot of it started with Ukraine.”  Remember the phone call took place the morning after the Mueller testimony so that was probably on the President’s mind.

Ukrainian President Zelensky is  the first  to bring up corruption, on page two of the below he tells Trump  “Well yes, to tell you the truth, we are trying to work hard because we wanted to drain the swamp here in our country.”

Zelensky was also the first one to bring up Rudy Guiliani (page 3).
