Ukraine has launched criminal proceedings against Joe Biden on allegations he pressured authorities into forcing the resignation of Ukrainian Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin, Interfax-Ukraine news agency reports, quoting Shokin’s lawyer.
After leaving office in 2017, Biden Bragged about pressuring the government of Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor Viktor Shokin or the Country would not receive relief funds.
Former VP Joe Biden said he, “Threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.” Biden suggested during his talk that Barack Obama was in on the threat.
What Biden didn’t tell the crowd at the time was that he had Shokin fired because he was investigating his son Hunter.
In January, Viktor Shokin filed an official complaint against former Vice President Joe Biden for interference in Ukraine’s legal proceedings. And this week Ukraine officially launched criminal proceedings against Biden on the allegations that he pressured authorities into forcing the resignation of Ukrainian Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin, Interfax-Ukraine news agency reports, quoting Shokin’s lawyer.
"The SBI has entered information about the criminal offence into the Single Register of Pretrial Investigations," Shokin's lawyer Oleksandr Teleshetskyy said at a briefing.— BBC Monitoring (@BBCMonitoring) February 27, 2020
