Twitter is going nuts right now because Kellyanne Conway suggested the number 19 was assigned to COVID-19 because this is the 19th strain of the virus. The number 19 was assigned because the virus was discovered in December 2019.
Kellyanne Conway made the remarks during an interview on Fox and Friends while hitting out at the World Health Organization for their lack of response and failing to be on top of the coronavirus outbreak sooner.
“This is COVID-19, not COVID-1, folks. You would think that people charged with the World Health Organization facts and figures would be on top of that,” Conway said.
After the interview aired, many took to social media to ask why one of the President’s top advisers didn’t know that it’s called COVID-19 because it started in 2019.
After the clip of Kellyanne Conway‘s gaffe went viral, so to did the hashtag catsjudgingkellyanne where users went on a rampage posting cat images and mocking Conway for not knowing why the coronavirus is called COVID-19.
And on and on it goes.
