Amazing video of a storm hitting New York City shows a lightning strike just behind the Statue of Liberty on Wednesday evening.
Michael Calabrese captured the stunning video of the lightning strike behind Lady Liberty while he was working onboard the Miss New York run by Statue Cruises.
“I was just in the right place at the right time,” Calabrese told USA TODAY, adding that he used his just phone camera to capture the stunning shot of the Statue of Liberty.
It was his love and passion for the weather as well as his instincts as a photographer that prompted him to start filming.
“I did my best to keep it as still as possible and contain my excitement,” Calabrese said.
On Twitter Calabrese Tweeted: “The best video I ever captured,” while sharing the video, which has been viewed on more than 2.5 million people.
