
Dozens of pieces of undelivered mail were found during a traffic stop in Houston on Saturday morning, authorities said.
The discovery has led to federal investigators looking into the incident, KTRK reported.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said they found papers, letters and other documents in the trunk of the vehicle, KPRC reported.
Mail theft is a felony under federal law.
Deputies also said the driver of the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated when he was stopped near the intersection of the Katy Freeway and Grand Parkway, the television station reported.
The driver of the vehicle has not been identified, KTRK reported.
