Violent clashes between a pro-Trump caravan that drove through Portland, Ore., and Black Lives Matter protesters left at least one person dead in a shooting Saturday evening, according to reports.
Demonstrations escalated on Saturday night after a Trump support rally made its way through the city. Trump supporters appeared to fire paintball pellets and pepper spray from their vehicles, while counter-protesters threw objects back. Portland Police said there had been instances of violence and that “officers have intervened and in some cases made arrests.” A person was shot and killed near the protests, though it is unclear if the two events are related.
When Black Lives Matter found out that it was a Patriot Prayer member the celebrated:
“Everybody, I just got word. The person who died was a Patriot Prayer person,” the Black Lives Matter leader tells the excited crowd. “He was a f***ing Nazi. Our community held its own and took out the trash. I’m not going to shed any tears over a Nazi dying!”

“Portland Police officers heard sounds of gunfire from the area of Southeast 3rd Avenue and Southwest Alder Street. They responded and located a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medical responded and determined that the victim was deceased,” the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement.
Independent reporter Andrew Duncomb tweeted that following the shooting: “A Patriot with camouflage gear with infidel and thin blue line patches, was shot and killed during pro-Trump car caravan through downtown Portland at around 8:45pm,”
“Just heard that the man killed is affiliated with my group. Just had drinks with him last Saturday,” Duncomb added.
Duncomb said to the District Herald that “all I got to say right now is he was a good Patriot and this news has hit my group of friends pretty hard. It’s time for Trump to hear our cries and clean up Portland. We will not let them kill us anymore.”
He added, “shame on Ted Wheeler and Kate Brown. His blood is on their hands. They allowed this violence to happen for over three months. How many people need to die before the elected officials will do their job to protect its citizens?”
