
Five people were shot, including one man who died at the scene, as they ate outside a restaurant Sunday in Chicago, according to the city Fire Department.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. at Lumes Pancake House in Morgan Park on the city’s South Side. The victims were eating under a tent set up outside the restaurant. The four injured diners were taken to local hospitals for emergency care.
Earlier reports said six people were shot but later police confirmed it had been five.

According to CBS Chicago, police said the 31-year-old man killed was the target of the shooting, as someone fired shots at him from a sport-utility vehicle.
A 32-year-old man and woman each suffered gunshots to the thigh and a 43-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen and buttocks. Police confirmed the victims were stabilized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
A 30-year-old woman was confirmed to be in good condition at OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park after being shot in the foot.
Witnesses claimed to hear about 30 gunshots. The case was still under investigation as of Sunday night with no suspects in custody as of yet.
