Yet again Portland police declared a riot as a mob wreaked havoc on the city throwing Molotov cocktails and attacking law enforcement with bricks, rocks, firebombs and frozen water bottles.
Police said at least two molotovs were thrown and fireworks were launched at the federal courthouse as well as the justice center. The rioters had been trying to break into the building.
The mob also started multiple fires as they attacked police officers from the Federal Protective Services and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office with bricks and frozen water bottles.
A few officers were hit with paint-filled balloons that Portland Police believe were “laced with a caustic substance as it caused burning to the skin.”
Just before 11pm a riot was declared by Portland Police with authorities warning “protestors” that they needed to leave the area and if they didn’t they would be subject to arrest “and/or the use of force, including but not limited to impact weapons and tear gas.”
The mob also destroyed multiple properties including smashing a local Portland-based specialty paper store windows completely shattering it.
The mob finally broke up around 2am after police used smoke bombs and impact munitions.
Police also said that arrests were made but did not release any information on who they arrested.
