Three White House officials have handed in their resignation after people stormed the US Capitol in Washington, DC.
The First Lady’s Chief of Staff, Stephanie Grisham, White House social secretary Rickie Niceta and deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews all quit on Wednesday.
In a statement, Matthews said she was “deeply disturbed by what I saw today” and emphasized the importance of “a peaceful transfer of power.”
Stephanie Grisham released a statement saying: “It has been an honor to serve the country in the White House. I am very proud to have been a part of Mrs. Trump’s mission to help children everywhere, and proud of the many accomplishments of this Administration.”
