Unlike President Biden and many unhinged people on social media looking to blame the unvaccinated for the prolonged pandemic, VP Kamala Harris has actually come out as the voice of reason for once. At least between her and Biden that is. We have to give credit where credit is due as it’s actually good to see an official in the world not demonize a group of people.
That doesn’t mean she hasn’t and will not blame certain groups of people for other things. We’re specifically talking out this. Just to be clear.
As we’ve seen throughout the world, leaders have constantly blamed unvaccinated people for the spread of covid even though most countries have locked out unvaxxed people from everywhere. Take Australia for instance, around the nation the unvaccinated have been unable to access everywhere except supermarkets, chemists. The Vaccinated however can go anywhere. The unvaccinated aren’t allowed to work or travel interstate, fly out of the country. The vaccinated can.
Only recently in Australia since the fully vaccinated rate hit over 90% has the unvaccinated been able to access other minor retail but still cannot access pub, cafes, hair/beauty, sporting events, concerts, and many other businesses that require fully vaccinated status.
Yet all the breakouts of covid happened well before that and have been and currently are where the vaccinated only have access. Pubs, cafes, sporting events, concerts, etc have had massive numbers of covid cases yet the unvaccinated were not there and are STILL being blamed. Same thing happening in cities like New York.
However, leaders like Dan Andrew will go on TV and blatantly lie telling Australians “it’s the pandemic of the unvaccinated.” Lucky for him, a lot of people down under seem too lazy to fact-check that and blindly worship him like a 12-year-old worships a Kpop group.
Now with the vaccination rate at a high everywhere ‘breakthrough’ cases are exploding amongst the vaccinated proving only one thing. It’s not unvaccinated that are spreading the virus. How could it be? They have been locked out of everything as the omicron variant spread like crazy in places they were not allowed to access.
Surprisingly it seems like Vice President Kamala Harris seems to recognize this. If her latest response is to anything to go by.
In an interview with “CBS Evening News” on Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris was asked if it is the fault of the unvaccinated.
She responded: “I don’t think this is a moment to talk about fault. It is no one’s fault this virus hit our shores or hit the world, but it is more about individual power and responsibility and it’s about the decisions that everyone has the choice to make, no doubt.”
Harris added: “We have the power today to go out and if you’ve not been boosted, go get boosted. The power today to go and get vaccinated. And that will have an impact on where we end up tomorrow.”
Her comments are in sharp contrast to President Biden, who said: “This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. And it’s caused by the fact that despite America having an unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months free vaccines have been available in 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.
“And to make matters worse, there are elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19. Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and mask up, they’re ordering mobile morgues for the unvaccinated dying from COVID in their communities. This is totally unacceptable.”
Harris’ remarks came as public health officials are expressing fear of a major surge of infections as a result of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Reuters reported that the omicron variant now accounts for 73% of U.S. COVID-19 infections, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
