
Authorities have reported that actor Jonathan Majors was taken into custody on Saturday morning in New York City over allegations of domestic violence. The 33-year-old star of “Creed III” was arrested on suspicion of assault, harassment, and strangulation, according to a statement from the NYPD provided to CBS News.
The NYPD was called to an apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood at 11:14 a.m. following a 911 call. After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that Majors and a 30-year-old woman were involved in a domestic dispute. The woman claimed to have been assaulted and was taken to the hospital for minor head and neck injuries. She is reportedly in stable condition.
Majors was arrested at the scene, according to police reports. In a brief statement to CBS News, a representative for Majors stated that the actor “has done nothing wrong” and that they look forward to clearing his name.
Majors is also known for his roles in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “Devotion,” and “Lovecraft Country,” for which he received an Emmy nomination.
