In a sudden and unexpected departure, Tucker Carlson, the most-watched primetime host on Fox News Channel, is leaving the network.
Fox News has stated that Tucker Carlson’s last show was on Friday, April 21st, which was announced just one week after the network settled a massive defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the company said in a statement Monday. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
In 2016, Tucker Carlson replaced Bill O’Reilly in Fox’s prime-time lineup and went on to become the network’s most popular personality.
