Actor Robert De Niro has announced that he has welcomed a new addition to his family, bringing his total number of children to seven. The Oscar-winning actor shared the news in a recent interview with ET Canada while discussing his most recent film, About My Father.
During the sitdown, De Niro spoke about the challenges of parenting, saying, “I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice. And any parent, I think, would say the same thing.”
When the interviewer mentioned De Niro’s six children, the actor corrected him, saying, “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.” However, he did not provide any further details about the newest member of his family or the partner with whom he welcomed the child.
Robert De Niro has six children from previous relationships. He shares daughter Drena, 51, and son Raphael, 46, with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott. He welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model and actress Toukie Smith in 1995. He also has a son Elliot, 24, and daughter Helen Grace, 11, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.
