A North Memphis man who was on his way to visit his mother was shot while changing a flat tire by an unknown assailant after his car broke down along Mississippi Boulevard.
Police report the shooting happened around midnight on Wednesday.
The victim’s name is Corey Lurry.
“My GPS was going in an out, so I got off on an exit,” Lurry said.
As reported by FOX13 News, Shortly after exiting, Corey found himself on Mississippi Boulevard when his car began shaking.
“I got out to check and see if my tire was bad,” he explained.
Shortly after exiting his vehicle to check his tires, he was approached by an unknown man who told him to “give it up,” the man then fired four shots, hitting Lurry once before he escaped.
Thankfully Corey will be ok.
Police are still on the lookout for the suspect.
